I'm ready to trade in this body...

That wretched pain I've come to know and hate is back. Tonight it was slightly sharper and very sudden. I nearly bowed over from it. It scared the living daylights out of my sister and brother who thought I was having some sort of heart attack.

I am finally fed up w it and would like nothing more than to get rid of it, but I still have to wait one more month before my health benefits kick in. I think meanwhile, I'll just roll over and die, thank you very much.

What pain am I blabbing on about, well, about a year ago, I started getting these really sharp almost stabbing pains in my chest that make it hard to breath. Doing some online research I've found other people who get this pain. Its mid sternum and a little towards the right, under my rib cage. Very localized. Online I've narrowed it down to a few possibilities. It can either be

1) gas buildup in my ribcage (which would be the easiest to solve by getting up and moving around) but it happens quite frequently and it makes moving around  quite painful.

2)  Costochondritis, inflamed cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone or sternum, which causes sharp pain in the costosternal joint.

or

 3) a collapsed lung. My lung could be punctured or I could have an elevated or depressed rib and air can be leaking out.

I do cough up a little blood sometimes, so I don't know if its related. Certainly the 9 years of smoking didn't help. In any case, March cannot come fast enough. this pain is something horrid. Right now, its been almost an hour and a half and the pain has finally dissipated  enough to more my back area in the same spot.  A few more deep breaths, and I should be okay to lay down and go to bed.

looking for some Divine...motivation...

ughh! Can't seem to find the energy to finish Incarceron....... Im thinking its more of a mood thing and I've been a little unfair to the book, but I can't help it. I guess I like some Sci-fi aspects to my reads, but full on, its a little overwhelming, and if Im honest...boring.

I realized long ago, that for me to like books, they need to fill certain criteria
1) I have to be able to identify with one of the characters. If I can't, then its death to that book then and there. If it not something I can imagine myself doing or someone I can imagine myself being, that book will forever collect dust as a  "pending" read and never be finished.

2)There has to be a little romance. It doesn't have to be a Harlequin (tho every now and then they might be fun) but i do need at least a little tease of some romantic tension. No tension, no romance...no interest. Just the way it is.

3) the story has to move at a good pace to maintain my interest. Most of the books that I love, I really can read in one go because it is so easy to lose track of time. I will gladly lose sleep over them. I usually have every Intention of reading for a half hour or so before bed, and before I know it, the roosters are crowing and the sun starts streaking through the curtains and its a Visine kind of day. If the book moves too fast where I can't follow, or too slow (mega torture) I will either skip to the end and call it quits, or finish...eventually.

Still working on that Urban Shaman book. Its got a great heroine. she kicks ass, there is a fantasy aspect with the whole fae, demon, healing thing, but not enough romance...barely a hint and its taking SO LOOOOONG! grrr! so much potential. NE ways, Incarceron falls here.....So do Clarkson's books (but that is more because they are too British for me to understand sometimes...and he shit talks Americans. A lot.)

Joining Reading challenges

Right. Surfing the web last night, i found book challenge blogs. Yeah. frickin awesome! I figure I read a lot and would like having people who read similar books to discuss them with. This is the first time I'm doing this, but nuts to it, lets give it a shot.

I am joining the Horror and Urban Fantasy Reading Challenge 2011 hosted by Book Chick City and the 100 Books in a Year Reading Challenge hosted by Book Chick City.

Went to a Kings game day before last. K-licious bought the tix for us as an Xmas present. The seats were amazing! I was so close, I could lick the ice. We lost...sadness sadness, but bee and I had tons o fun. We signed up for this Marketing thing that gave us a free Kings shirt and a free trip to Catalina.

I don't know how genuine this is, but I'm hoping very! I really want more kings tix, and Catalina won't b bad. They just left me a vm, I am too tired to call today, but I might call tomorrow. Come to think of it, I should google to make sure it's legit.
